Honolulu Freight Service Completes Major Warehouse Consolidation
DACA Member News – April 17, 2026

DACA member Honolulu Freight Service (HFS) has reached a significant milestone in its operational growth with the completion of a $32 million renovation and consolidation project. The logistics providers is moving its primary operations into a sprawling new headquarters in Kalihi, located at 911 Middle St.
Transforming a Historic Site
The new 92,400-square-foot facility sits on approximately three acres at the intersection of Middle Street and North King Street. This location previously housed the historic Love’s Bakery headquarters. Following the bakery’s closure in 2021, Honolulu Freight Service purchased the property for $32 million and has spent the last year modernizing the facility to meet the demands of high-volume freight and logistics.
Strategic Operational Growth
While the renovation is officially complete, HFS is currently finalizing the move as they await the final certificate of occupancy for the new space. Jeff Lyskoski, Executive Vise President of Sales & Marketing, anticipates that the transition will be fully finalized by late May.
This move is party of a broader strategy to streamline regional operations. While the new Kalihi headquarters will serve as the central hub, HFS will maintain its existing facilities in Sand Island and Mapunapuna to ensure continued service coverage.
Expanding the Footprint
The consolidation of Oahu is just one piece of HFS’s current expansion. The company is already eyeing future growth opportunities:
● Maui: HFS is looking into expansion possibilities on Maui once the Oahu move is settled.
● Mainland & Beyond: The company continues to provide comprehensive service across the country with active operations in California, Oregon, Washington, and Guam.
● Los Angeles: To support growing mainland-to island volume, the Los Angeles facility is also currently undergoing a significant expansion.
By investing in owned infrastructure rather than leased facilities, Honolulu Freight Service is positioning itself for long-term stability and increased capacity. This $32 million investment underscores their commitment to “going the distance” for their customers and strengthening the logistics network across the Pacific.
